Silver Appleyard ducks were developed in the 1930's by British waterfowl breeder Reginald Appleyard. These birds are considered to be "triple duty" birds, as they contain attributes that are considered to be favorable for utility purpses, egg laying and ornamental plumage. This breed of duck is easily tamed. Adults weight between 7 - 10 pounds, and females will lay between 200 - 270 white eggs per year.
